      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Diego, CA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Turtle Beach (San Diego, CA) in Jul 2019

      Interview

I was originally contacted through LinkedIn by a recruitment firm that apparently has a long-standing relationship with Turtle Beach. I had a phone screening with the recruiter, followed by a phone interview with the hiring manager and then an on site interview. The interviews went relatively well I felt pretty good about Turtle Beach and the hiring manager. Ultimately I was not offered the position. I didn't think that it was a perfect fit, but I did feel that it was a pretty good fit, so I was slightly disappointed. That said, if given the opportunity to interview with that team again in the future, I would likely do so.

      Interview questions [2]

      Question 1

Several behavior questions were asked, such as "What is your favorite hobby?"
      1 Answer

      Question 2

I was asked to verbally walk through a task on the computer. As a pretty high level computer user, the question was pretty rudimentary for me.

      Product Manager Interview

      2 Aug 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Turtle Beach

      Interview

Wow, this company is great at wasting candidate's time. They have been trying to fill the PM position for several months, and I am almost certain that they have used a dozen different recruiting firms in San Diego, CA and have now started using firms in other states to fill this position. One recruiter told me that the company rejected all the submitted candidates. And before that, I had been rejected as well. They have been looking for candidates with 5+ years of experience, yet they do not want to offer the typical salary for such hire. Many of the workers are young, and after some research I found out that they actually do not develop their own hardware and only rely on rebranding hardware from China. There was no communication through the company, and it seemed odd that everything went through the recruiter. I wasted my time during multiple calls where recruiters didn't tell me what company I was interviewing for up until I asked what industry, and they said gaming.
