      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at TribalScale (Toronto, ON)

      Interview

Initial had phone interview with the hiring manager. We hit it off pretty well, so she invited me to come onsite for a technical interview. When I reached there, the hiring manager walk me through the office, to get a feel of working environment. Later, I was asked to sit in a small room where my technical interview would be taken. An engineer came up from the team, didn't even introduced properly. Plainly asked two technical questions and was asked to write answers on the white board. The interviewer seemed to be not interested from start throughout the interview. And left the room as soon as I was finished with the code writing without saying anything. My overall experience was very negative.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at TribalScale in Sept 2017

      Interview

After I was referred to the position by an employee at TribalScale I did three interviews over one month and a half of time. The first interview was an HR interview over Skype, the HR employee was very nice and understanding and she seems like she knows a lot about the tech field, we talked for about 20 minutes, she asked about my academic and professional background. I was able to hear that she was taking notes all the time of the interview. The second interview was a technical interview. Some employee at TribalScale interviewed me over CollabEdit. She was rather rude and didn't even introduce herself to me. She asked me two easy technical questions and told me to be as vocal as possible. I answered and wrote the answers in around 40 minutes. She didn't even discuss the answers with me but I knew I answered correctly anyway. After that, I moved on to the third and final interview as the HR employee told me, it was with the VP of engineering at TribalScale. He was a really cool guy with great experience and career. We talked for about 10 minutes in a video call then completed the other 30 minutes in a phone call. We discussed a lot of my previous projects and work experience, we also talked a lot about agile methodologies and agile work environments. He finally welcomed me to the "Tribe" as they call their team. After a week and a half passed, I was surprised by an email from the HR employee telling me that I was rejected for no apparent reason, she just thanked me for my time and encouraged me to apply again later. My overall experience with TribalScale was really negative, the process took a really long time which was around two months and it was total let down to not receive an offer after they welcomed me.

      Android Engineer Interview

      Application

I applied through other source. I interviewed at TribalScale (Los Angeles, CA) in Jun 2017

      Interview

CEO contacted me through another job posting website and managed the whole process himself. We started talking around one and a half months ago and he was really eager to talk to me about the possible opportunity. After initial phone screen, I was assigned with an Android sample project to showcase my android skills in 2 weeks. Throughout the project he contacted with me regularly and was very interested in. After I delivered my project they wanted me to re-do the application but with using new technologies, there was nothing wrong with this and it was a nice gesture on their part. Instead of rejecting me they gave me 2 more weeks to use new libraries and revamp my app. After the second delivery CEO himself said they had a good impression and they will make a decision shortly next week. At this point I did 2 applications in 3 weeks and was waiting for their response. One week later I emailed them hoping them to have a response, they postponed it one more week, and I have never heard from them again even though I emailed CEO 2 times and not even a response. My general impression is that when TribalScale "needs" you they will email you frequently and will be very close but probably when they find another candidate they will not even email to notify the result. My overall experience was very negative.
