The interview took place in one of the boutiques with the general manager and the owner. The owner was 15 minutes late, and she shopped the boutique while we spoke; she tried on shoes for the duration of the interview. The interview was very conversational, there were very few hard-hitting questions. Multiple comments were made about my weight and my age, which seemed to sell them on my qualifications for the position. I was praised for my aesthetics, and my work experience was not discussed in-depth. At the end of the interview, I was asked for my astrological sign, which the manager and owner then discussed how that would positively/negatively affect my work. It was a very superficial encounter, and I left feeling baffled and self-conscious.
