I applied through other source. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Transtelco (El Paso, TX) in Jan 2020
Interview
Interview process was basic at best. I was asked the cliche question of "tell me about yourself". My interviewer did most of the talking after that. He interrupted me several times when I was sharing my experience with him. Having conducted hundreds of interviews, I'm not sure he knew 100% what he was doing/what kind of person he is/was looking for.
I left the place of business with a paper application to fill out and email back to them. I figured he was interested. I emailed the application the next day and about 2-3 weeks later I got a phone call from Mexico. This person called me to ask me what salary I was looking for. Being that I was applying to a position with commission/bonus pay, I asked to see the compensation plan so that I could determine the salary I needed.
The lady asked me when I could start and mentioned someone would call me back to share the comp plan for the position. I also shared with her the comp plan for my previous employer. I don't think they have ever hired an outside sales executive.
It's been 2-3 weeks and no one has called back. This is a sloppy interview process. Most likely, I will not pursue this job any further.
