I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Transamerica (New York, NY) in Jan 2016
Interview
Very brief and easy going. Interviewer was very nice. Refers to the resume a lot but also wants to know a lot about you and who you are other than someone who is trying to apply for the position. The interview and training process was split up into a couple of days so that was not very convenient because you have to keep going back to the company. It is not going to help when you live more than half an hour away to have to keep going back, but it is understandable since it is a lot of information to cover in just a day.
Someone reached out to me on LinkedIn and we set up an interview with no application process. One of these commission-based, no-experience-required things. That guy and his mentor talked to me for an hour with a whole presentation, and it ended with an offer to become one of their clients if not an advisor.
Very calm, and easy. They just want to get to know you at first. It isn’t as much as an interview as it is a conversation to see if that want to take the next step

Question 1
Tell me about your background and why you chose to apply to Transamerica
Get an insight of the business, learn about the structure, and compensation potential. It may be for some people but I’m still deciding if it’s for me. It was very reminiscent to a mlm structure so that kind of made me second guess if it was something I wanted to do but it may be for someone.
