Horrendous - I travelled over 60 Km to attend the interview, was 10 mins late due to a pile up because of a terrible road accident (unfortunately very common during Canadian winters), must have apologised over 5 times for being late to the interview.
Was asked to come in and "Meet with the Hiring Manager". When I walked in there was a panel of 5 members in person and a few people over the phone. Wasn't asked for water, they started a technical interview straight away.
The person taking the tech interview didn't seem to understand the technology and kept asking questions which could have any answer depending upon the situation but I was expected to give a particular reply without being told the context. Answered confidently to questions which would have a clear reply.
The interviewer was not open minded at all and considered him/her self in a position of superiority when He/She was rather self-absorbed and didn't think understanding the interviewee's thought process mattered at all.
After having gone through the torture, the HR didn't even have the courtesy to share any kind of feedback at all - having engaged with this person in their Canada office for over a month - they just disappeared suddenly after the in-person interview. This behaviour is what's causing me to write this review actually. It is the most unprofessional behaviour that I have come across in my 10 years of career, words can't describe the apathy that I think the Canadian recruitment carries while doing their jobs.
If there is any responsible observer at TransUnion reading this - please do get in touch with me and I would like to share proof of my ordeal so you could take some corrective measure if you really do wish to improve the sorry state of Human Resources in your Canada Office.
