Interview
I only went through their Vue, which is an online process. It is a mix of coding and answering questions on video. There was no human from Toyota side. This feels very disrespectful!
4 rounds:
1. Recruiter screening (~30 mins), just overview on your past experiences
2. Hirevue (~1 hour), some ML basics, one leetcode easy, a few behavioral
3. Teams meeting with senior ML engineers, conversational about experiences, some ML theory questions sprinkled in
4. Final onsite interview with 2 engineering managers, asked more questions about implementations, a pretty specific sys design-adjacent question, and some behavioral
From rounds 1-3 I heard back within 2 days, was ghosted after the onsite

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Toyota Connected in May 2022
Interview
round 1: recruiter call ~30 min
round 2: OA with HireVue, 2 behavior and 7 technical questions.
round 3: technical call with ML manager, 1hour, based on resume.
round 4: talk to VP
The first three rounds are all very normal, professional. All the focus is on the role, the technical ability. In between, they may check how you answer the question and they also asked some behavior questions.
The last round with the newly promoted VP is the worst interview experience I had so far among all of my interviews.
First of all, from the very beginning, he didn't seem to be interested in my answers. He didn't pay attention and check his chat from time to time. He even replied a few messages during the interview. I can hear him typing. Finally, the interview ended abruptly after about 30min. Note, 45 min was scheduled.
I feel that he had decided to reject me before interviewing me.
The negative feeling is only from the last round.

Interview
The interview process was as follows:
- 30 minute talk with a recruiter to discuss background.
- Hirevue interview with 6 quiestions including a coding question (leet code easy).
- 45 minute interview with 3 peer level engineers
- 45 minute interview with hiring manager and another engineer
- employment application, requiring 2 references
- 1 hour interview with the director of machine learning.
Decisions from interviews were made quickly (1-2 days).
