I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Toptal (Barcelona) in May 2019
Interview
I passed the first interview with the recruiter and was given an online test as a second step of the process. The first interview was pretty standard, basically identifying your level of english, your experience in the field and as a freelancer. The recruiter was kind and interested. The test was difficult because there were 50 questions to answer in 25 minutes and I couldn't finish. I have no problem in not passing but they don't tell the results and you cannot understand how you went. Even though I asked they only said that they cannot disclosure results or their passing threshold but I could retake it again in 3 months time.
I had an interview with a recruiter as part of the hiring process. The conversation included specific questions related to the role and my previous experience. The interview was structured and focused on assessing my fit for the position and understanding my background in similar tasks.

Question 1
to walk through my entire design process live, from understanding the problem to delivering a solution for a specific case
The process was very comprehensive, and the interviewers were very good at what they were doing. The first phase is quite easy, but when it comes to the later stages that's where the weeding comes out. Overall a challenging interview.
Recruiter kept me well informed throughout the process. They also provided documents about the company and benefits which was appreciative. You’re also expected to take an assessment during the process.
