I applied for two marketing roles at Toast and interviewed in-person for both. The first role I interviewed for, the hiring manager wasn't even there as she was "out sick". The second role I interviewed for, I was at Toast for 4 hours and was bombarded by case study after case study (the hiring manager was completely unaware of this and apologized by saying she would correct this for other candidates). For both roles I was asked to complete rigorous and time consuming case studies. I didn't end up getting either job, but overall it felt like the interviewers weren't aligned on what they were looking for in the positions and were equally unsure of how to conduct interviews. Additionally, for both roles, Toast waited over 2 weeks before telling me that they had found more qualified candidates. At the end of the day I was so frustrated with the process and lack of communication that I didn't end up really wanting either job.
