Interview
After 4 individual PM interviews, TikTok simply ghosted me. No follow-up, no feedback, not even an automated rejection. Everyone I interviewed with at TikTok (including the recruiter) has once interviewed for their own position and knows that each interview takes several hours or days to prepare for. After that investment of time from the candidate, not following up at all is extremely disrespectful. I can't wait for the tide to turn so high tech companies are once again forced to mind their manners during recruiting.
My worst interview experience ever. I think the entire process. The interviewer is so impatient and she's just like giving a lot of bully and disagreement, and I feel just a lot of disrespect.

The interview process consisted of 4 rounds:
Recruiter Screen - Standard 30-minute call covering background, motivation, and logistics (relocation willingness, start date)
Hiring Manager Round - Focused on product sense and strategic thinking.
Technical Round - One round with an engineer covering technical PM questions. Expected to discuss system architecture, data governance, and technical trade-offs
Product Lead Interview - Deep dive into product strategy, leadership approach, and ability to handle complex product challenges
It was 5 rounds of interview, and the process was quick and structured. I was interviewing with hiring managers and skip managers in different timezones from US or China. Each interview was a little bit different in terms of questions, but they all focused on your past experience and deep dive into past case studies. Be prepared to elaborate on how you deal with different situations.
