I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at TikTok (Singapore) in Aug 2022
Interview
Recruiter contacted me a couple of days after I applied through linkedin. All of the interviewers have a chinese accent and some of them were actually quite hard to understand. However, the overall interview was not bad actually. The interviewer was quite nice and good at interviewing.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
- First round: basic front-end questions, such as basic JS, promise, react, and so on. Then proceed to the coding section. I was asked to create an autocomplete widget in react, which then I had to improve it using debounce. - Second round: began by asking about a challenging project I had done, and then moved on to the coding section. This was an algorithmic question related to date conversion. This was a very ambiguous question, and had to ask lots of questions to figure out what the desired outcome was. - Last round (hiring manager): started with an open question, such as "How do you troubleshoot if a user encounters a blank content page?" Then we talked about a challenging project I have done. Lastly, moved on to the coding section which was an algorithmic problem related to css selectors.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at TikTok
Interview
I was contacted by recruiter on linkedin.
They scheduled phone screening which contained basic employment questions. In this call I was asked my availability for second round
The second round was technical which is DSA happened virtual
Interviewer was very nice and gave clues when some of the questions were trickier. My only complaint is the recommended study guide was not in line with what was asked during the interview itself.
