I had a call with a talent representative who was based in London and interviewing for the Dublin role. During the conversation, he asked about my qualifications. I explained that I hold a 1.1 honours degree from MTU, and he responded by saying he had never heard of the college and questioned whether my degree was real. When I clarified that Munster Technological University (MTU) is a recognised university in the south of Ireland, he still did not seem to believe me.
The interaction left a very bad impression. His attitude was dismissive, unprofessional, and quite disrespectful. He also mentioned that, despite what he perceived as a lack of a degree, my experience was strong and that he would be in touch about moving to a second round. I never heard anything further, which I ultimately did not mind, as the experience gave me an insight into the culture there and confirmed it would not be an environment I would want to work in.
