Submitted application through recruiter. First was a call with HR generally about the role. Here I asked if they would be ok with me working from home 3 days a week. HR said this was fine. All seemed good.
Progressed to a very informal Teams interview with Lead Statistician. Seemed like a general chat about experience and motivations for the role. Only one statistics-related question was asked in the whole conversation. Tried to shoehorn in other statistical experience but this was not a statisical skills focused interview. Interview made it seem I would likely progress to next interview and even talked about meeting informally for a face to face interview.
I was then ignored for the next week and half by both the recruiter and HR. Was emailed and didn't progress to the next round of interviews because apparently "I didn't have enough statistical expertise". How the interviewer gauged this with next to no questioning about my statistical experience or any kind of testing is beyond me. I got no other feedback for this.
The impression I got was that they actually wanted someone in the office three days a week and the feedback I got was an excuse.
All in all, not a good interview process.
