I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Thoughtful Automation (Austin, TX) in Oct 2025
Interview
The first interview was really great. They send me a challenge and I did it. Then the technical interview was not good at all. All the questions was not clear and what they expected was not clear. I did not pass but I receive no feedback of why. It seems that they invited me for a software developer position but they actually want a Data Engineer
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Thoughtful Automation
Interview
I set up a phone screening with a recruiter after being messaged directly on LinkedIn. The recruiter rescheduled the call twice thereafter, putting it 3 weeks out from the initial communication.
Overall, the phone screening seemed a bit frivolous and aimed at attracting a 'hustle culture' candidate which I am not. I guess that was apparent as I received a rejection email the next day (despite not formally applying to any positions).
I find being asked questions like "What is your work superpower" a bit tedious and infantilizing at this stage in my career. If you're serious about your product you should be asking serious questions.

Submitted a take home assessment. Then had a follow-up interview on the same take home assessment, with more details. Tried to reach out to recruiter for feedback, but got nothing.
