      Senior Backend Developer Interview

      19 Sept 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Aliso Viejo, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at ThinkIQ (Aliso Viejo, CA) in Dec 2019

      Interview

Worse interview I have ever experienced. Avoid this company. Contacted by recruiter, followed by phone screen with CTO. That went fine was then called in for an in person interview. First interview was with a long time project manager, 2nd interview was with a long time developer. Both went fine. Third interview was with a person who had been a college intern, then come back and been hired. I do not recall his title. During that interview design patterns came up, and he did not like my answer. He immediately got up, left the room and called the prior two interviewers into a conference room with another person. I was just left in the conference room wondering what was going on. A short while later they sent an HR rep into my room and she marched me out of the building! No good bye, don't call us we will call you, thanks for coming.. nothing. You would think that I had been caught spying for a foreign government. Their is an extreme culture problem with this company. People do not act like this in a vacuum. There is a reason that they have to rely on external recruiters.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Mostly technical, a lot about postgresql since this was a backe end position.
