The recruiter reached out for the position and asked general questions about experience/ expectations. The salary range was below my expectations so i said i could not proceed. I got a call next day from recruiter who was superactive saying that we discussed with hiring manager and can meet your expectations as there are multiple level openings in the team. I said sure, lets proceed.
Had a call with hiring manager and another data scientist- great folks, amazing conversation. I was excited for further rounds.
Recruiter was super active and kept reaching out fast- scheduled final rounds for me. I had confirmed at this point as well if this is for another position as we had discussed- she confirmed YES !
I gave interviews- 4 rounds meeting with data scientists and product manager. Again, amazing people and great conversations. I was looking forward to the opportunity.
Followed up with the SUPERACTIVE recruiter after 3 days- NO RESPONSE,
again followed up after 6 days- NO RESPONSE
again followed up after 2 weeks -NO RESPONSE.
Within this timeline, i interviewed with other companies and received two offers.
I haven't heard back from the recruiter till date and its been nearly 2 months.
The summary of the story is Thermofisher Scientific has good people working but their recruitment process is a disaster and painful for candidates- We expect a YES/ NO or even a timeline for a response. You cannot ghost a candidate who went through multiple rounds of interview and dedicated time to the company. I have never seen any recruiter or company's interview process go like this.
I hope the leadership changes this in future.
