I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at The Wilderness Society (Bozeman, MT) in Mar 2018
Interview
Very disorganized and drawn out. Received email request for an interview which was later rescheduled without any info as to when. They then scheduled a phone interview and the people interviewing seemed 1) bored 2) annoyed to be on the call 3) distracted. Never received any update after that despite being told that they would let me know about the next stage. It's fine if you don't want to move a candidate to the next phase but I think you owe people the courtesy of letting them know whether or not they are still under consideration. Overall, the experience did not reflect well on the brand of the organization and frankly, based on the interview, I was unsure that I really wanted to work there.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at The Wilderness Society in Dec 2022
Interview
I applied at the end of October and began interviewing (screen, 1:1, panel) in mid-November. I was notified in mid-December. The process was clear and smooth. Everyone I spoke with was thoughtful.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at The Wilderness Society (Washington, DC) in May 2017
Interview
I had a phone interview with the director of communications of the department/program. It lasted a half hour. He told me that I was one of six chosen for the phone interview out of about 50 applicants. He said they would choose three applicants to move on in the process after 7 to 10 days. After way more that 10 days, I had not heard a single word from them at all, even to tell me that I was not moving on. Talk about rude and an extreme lack of courtesy. If they treat potential employees like this, I wonder how they are to actual employees.
