I recently interviewed here, and unfortunately, it was a frustrating and unprofessional experience.
Firstly, I arrived early as a sign of respect for the interview process. However, I was left alone in a stark, uninviting room that felt more like an interrogation space. I was told I’d be given a form to complete, but this was only provided after nearly 30 minutes—just as the interviewer, who I believe was the male boss, arrived.
Secondly, the interviewer himself arrived approximately 20-30 minutes late without any apology or acknowledgement of the time wasted. This lack of courtesy set a poor tone from the outset. He also did not introduce himself or provide any context for the interview, resulting in a very impersonal and disjointed interaction.
Finally, I was asked about my work history in a way that felt overly critical and condescending. Instead of engaging in an open dialogue, he responded with frowns and a dismissive attitude toward my responses. I have always made well-thought-out decisions in my career based on my experiences, and it felt inappropriate to be met with such unwarranted scrutiny.
When I mentioned having to work overtime frequently in a previous position due to specific demands, he later brought it up in a sarcastic manner. When I inquired about the biggest challenge in this role, he responded with, “Finish your job within working hours?” which felt unnecessarily condescending.
Overall, I would advise future candidates to approach this company with caution. Interviewing is a two-way street, and respect and professionalism should be mutual.
