I had reached out on a whim looking for an internship and emailed the general email to see if they had any availability. I included my resume and after a couple weeks I received an email from their intern recruiter. She offered me an initial interview. It was only around 15-20 minutes. She asked about how I like my program, my thoughts on couple experiences on my resume, and why I wanted to be a counselor. I answered honestly, discusses the difference between my psychology program and MHC program (pros and cons) spoke about what I learned from my resume experiences and how they help me now, and was personal with my answers. That seemed to work well because I was offered a second interview with the co-director, the administrator, and a supervisor. They asked similar questions and explained that since I was offered the 2nd interview that meant the recruiter felt I was qualified. So this interview was about if we feel compatible together. My authentic and at times vulnerable responses seemed to make a good impression and I was quick to accept the internship offer!
