      Project Manager Interview

      24 Sept 2021
      Anonymous employee
      San Francisco, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at The Motley Fool (San Francisco, CA) in Aug 2021

      Interview

      - contacted by the recruiter within a few days of applying - quick chat and then screening round with the HR manager - first level phone interview was with a combination tech and PM - next phase was a 2 - 2.5 hour long interview with multiple stakeholders. stakeholders were for the projects the role that I was applying for - the HR and recruiter got back almost immediately after the interview to express interest in proceeding further - had a few questions and both the HR and the Hiring manager made time to explain. Transparent and genuine.

      Question 1

Lots of scenarios based questions. Process oriented, if then else. They really try to understand the personality and make sure that you gel with the folks you will be working with. The company culture is really important to them - and they take care to recruit people who share their values.

      Application

I applied through other source. I interviewed at The Motley Fool (Washington, DC) in Oct 2020

      Interview

A thorough interview process that took around two months from initial contact to offer. The assessment was content-based and highly representative of one of the key parts of the role (content creation/design). The final interview stage consisted of multiple short interviews with Fools from different areas of the business. Although there was pressure of being in an interview process, I enjoyed the interactions I had and meeting potential colleagues. This part of the process also gave me good insight into culture at TMF. The interview process was pretty well organized and HR followed up well throughout.

Questions touched many areas but here are some of the key topics (in no particular order): - Stakeholder management - Future ambitions - Experience in owning own career - Comfort with data - Motivation
