I had a total of 4 interviews with 5 people over the course of my application. The interviews were conversational and straight forward. The first was a screener, followed by a team lead interview, then a program director and one of the VPs.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked about my experience with outreach and ask me questions about my sale background.
I applied online. I interviewed at The Meet Group (Philadelphia, PA) in Oct 2021
Interview
2 interviews, First interview was a technical leetcode type of questions I would classify as about a medium. Second round was 5 back to back interviews that included another leetcode type question, system design, behavioral interviews and a culture fit.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at The Meet Group in Jan 2023
Interview
Phone screen with hiring manager.
Four and a half hours of panels. Coding exercise/architecture discussions and interviewing with people all the way up to the CTO.
For the code exercise, they tell you to “share your screen and code this”. It doesn’t feel friendly or fun. It feels like the company isn’t aware of how off putting their style is for this portion of the interview. For a fully remote team, your engineers need to collaborate well over video and it really felt like there was no preparation or effort here on their part. Not even an online environment to pair program in or a file with instructions (I had to ask them to paste them in the zoom chat). It also felt awkward to have two of their engineers on the code portion. It actually feels like you have two people standing over your shoulder while you code at your desk. That’s more awkward than having one person coding WITH you at your desk.
The hiring manager is easy to speak with. The people on the architecture/experience discussion session are equally pleasant and knowledgeable (this seems by far the most useful portion of the interview process).
