If you are interviewing here, don't believe anything a recruiter tells you and expect extremely poor communication.
I had a 30-minute phone screen that went well. I was told that I had many qualities the hiring team was looking for and that I would move on to the next round. The recruiter outlined all of the next steps and exactly who I would be speaking to.
Despite following up, I didn't hear another word for two weeks, at which point I was told that the hiring team had many impressive candidates and were still determining how to move forward. I was told I should hear more the next week. That was three weeks ago and I have not heard anything since, despite following up.
I don't understand why a company expects you to spend hours preparing for an interview, tells you you are going to move forward, and then doesn't have the decency to take five minutes to send an email letting you know that they have gone in a different direction, let alone an apology for miscommunicating their intent on progressing you to future rounds. The recruiter I spoke to has been in HR at MJ for over nine years, so this wasn't an issue of inexperience.
Unfortunately, the MJ Companies is just another organization that doesn't value transparency, integrity, or the candidate experience. I hope they will improve and/or that my case is an outlier and other candidates are treated with the respect they deserve.
