Cold call via email gauging interest for a change pitching position. Have had similar calls over the years, but the wrong fit. I thought there was a solid relationship and the position pitched hit every checkmark on a checklist discussed. The email was not from my usual contact, the recruiter did not have a phone# listed or disclose which branch she was from. I sent an email back asking to schedule a call to discuss before updating my resume. An admin calls me and said "just send what you have" - she knew nothing about the job, the client, or any other details. I send a boiler plate resume and encourage a phone call to tweak my resume making it clear she did not have permission to submit to the client before speaking to me. I wait a few days, then call a Sr. Exec I know to obtain a phone# - as well as her direct boss. I called, left a voice mail - no response. Called her boss (who I also know) and no response. I tell them by voice mail and in writing I am withdrawing my application and DO NOT submit me for the position. About 2 weeks later, I get an email from the "boss" asking for my help filling that same position. I respond within 30 minutes of the email asking again for a phone call. No response. Seems like the quality of service and candidate experience has sunk dramatically over the years. They seem disorganized, unable to fill the jobs and should go through a reorg and cut the dead weight who are creating a bad candidate experience.
