I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at The Healthy Living Store (Hammersmith, England) in Mar 2026
Interview
An unusual experience! I was contacted directly by the hiring manager after applying for a separate role and invited in to discuss this position. The interview itself lasted an hour and a half and felt positive. At the end I was told a second interview would be arranged the following week to meet other members of the team, and if that went well I would then meet with the founder. At the end the hiring manager brought me to see the office and introduced me to one of the employees who this role would work with.
They followed up with me to ask me my thoughts on the role the next day to which I replied with a few questions (day to day expectations, comp etc). Despite following up several times over the following weeks to understand when this second meeting would take place, I never received a response.
Applied almost four months ago – the process required a lot of information to be written down, including a mandatory cover letter explaining why you want to work for the company. I spent a great deal of time on this application as I loved the brand and was a loyal customer. I can log in to their ATS and see that my application is still open, but despite messaging three people (over three times each) to ask for an update on the role (whether it has been cancelled, filled, or if I was simply unsuccessful), I have received no response.
I am not arrogant enough to think I deserve an interview, but given that I am also a customer (something I mentioned in my cover letter), I would expect a business to show some common courtesy and at least reject candidates — ideally with feedback, but at this point I would just accept a rejection.
I have since cancelled both my wife’s and my own subscriptions for our supplements through them. I would rather give my money to a company that treats its customers better.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at The Healthy Living Store (London, England) in Jul 2025
Interview
My interview process was quite disappointing, especially given the company’s positioning as a wellness brand. The first stage was with someone who didn’t seem to have a full understanding of the role or team structure. I was asked over 20 questions and the call lasted 45 minutes but was meant to be just an intro call. It felt disconnected from the actual job. I then completed a fairly simple task, followed by a final interview which was anything but friendly! When I asked about the company culture or work environment, I received vague responses like “we care about the company and work hard.” Other questions I asked about the role, team, or ways of working were met with little enthusiasm or depth, which felt dismissive. It gave the impression they were uninterested in me but rather wanted to hear that I am ready to work hard no matter what it takes. The biggest red flag was when on the same call towards the end I was told that this role would also involve a completely separate skill set from a different job function. ( Essentially combining two roles into one). This raised concerns about ethics clarity and focus in the hiring process. All in all, the experience suggested a lack of respect for candidates, unclear role definition, and internal disorganization. The process really didn’t reflect any care, curiosity, or well-being either in how they treated candidates or how they communicated their culture.
