      Manager Interview

      28 Apr 2014
      Anonymous employee
      Greenwich, CT
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at The Clean Bedroom (Greenwich, CT) in Oct 2013

      Interview

Owners asked illegal questions during interview: " Are you married?" " Do you go to church?" The business is selling mattresses and is not a religious organization so the question is illegal, as is questioning marital status under Connecticut law during the hiring process. The owner stated that she hired me because I was educated and had the Greenwich look which is fine but when I used my education ( I am a practicing attorney) to advise her of a lot of illegal activity that was going on at her direction she fired me. The owner advertised the position in Craig's List which was the first red flag that she was trouble.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Owner asked me if I would use the charity events I went to in order to promote her product, thus attempting to mooch off my connections.
