Process was fairly straight forward: phone screen with HR then phone screen with hiring manager. My phone screen with the hiring manager went very well but then I was told I did not move onto the next round. When I asked for feedback, I was told I did not move on to the next round because my answers were wordy which shocked me, I was expecting something more concrete. I'm an ivy candidate and this was a technical role that required very specific skills, experiences and characteristics, and I was definitely one of the most qualified candidates. The phone screen where I "gave wordy answers" ended on time with very great info/back and forth despite the hiring manager calling somewhat late and there was absolutely no indication of my answers being anything more than what was needed and helpful, and I've never had that feedback before. I honestly believe that the hiring manager who was a white bro male was not comfortable with me as a gay black man and I was removed before getting too far into the process as I was likely the best candidate. Moving forward I would have had the chance to speak with more folks on the team and it would be less difficult to arbitrarily dismiss my candidacy without raising red flags. Top candidates should avoid this company
