      Front Desk Host Interview

      11 Jun 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Marina del Rey, CA

      Application

The process took 3 days. I interviewed at The Cheesecake Factory in May 2010

      Interview

There were three seperate days for this interview. The first day was with one of the managers who just talked to you about your resume and what position(s) you were applying for. If he liked you enough he would invite you back for a second day. On the second day you met with him again and answered questions about how you work in different environments and how you would handle situations. This was an hour long interview. After the interview he would write up an assessment about what kind of worker you would be and take it to the rest of the managers and the GM. If they approved you would then meet with the GM to again go over your resume and the kind of work that would be best suited for you. At the conclusion of this interview they will tell you what position they're considering you for (I interviewed for one but was offered another) and that they will call you in a few days.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at The Cheesecake Factory (Marina del Rey, CA) in May 2015

      Interview

Got an email requesting a phone interview. So, first had the phone interview which was less than 5 minutes. (If applying for the host position, put an emphasis on the fact that you believe hosts should be energetic and happy because you're the first person the customer sees and so you should make that experience pleasant for the customer). Then came in for a second interview with one of the general managers and then a third interview where another manager would determine if they want you.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Why should we hire you? Why do you want this job? What are important characteristics a host should have? Was there ever a time you couldn't help a customer? And also describe your work experience.
