I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at The Boston Beer Company (Boston, MA) in Mar 2019
Interview
I began the interview process with BBC in March 2019. My first interaction was a phone screen with the lead recruiter which then led to (2) separate calls with the hiring managers for the role. For these initial calls, it was pertinent to do research on the company, show industry knowledge, and exude that “roll-up-your-sleeves” tenacity. After the 3 intro calls, I had 6 1:1 meetings at HQ and 1 additional call. I also presented a final case study that was broken into 2 sections for ~30 minutes. It’s very important to have well thought out questions for the team and be ready to answer intricate situational questions on the fly. To prep for all these interviews: I did extensive research about the company (i.e. “Quench your own thirst” by Jim Koch, “How I built this” podcast, etc.), met offline with a business expert to deep dive into all facets of the industry, and taste-tested products. These all made for great talking points in each interview and I highly recommend for future interviewees! I really enjoyed everyone I met with – the common thread I found to be shared was camaraderie and autonomy. My process lasted about 2 months, was relatively smooth, and the recruiting team was responsive at most times. While I did not get the offer, I would’ve loved constructive feedback to help me be a stronger candidate in the future.
