Interview was simple to book. Very informal/conversational experience. Being a startup, interviewer was transparent about the role requiring flexibility. While job title was "Advisor"/"Client Engagement Specialist", the role sounded closer to being an outbound SDR combined with a customer service representative for $20/hr with no benefits. While initially advertised as having potential to move into a salaried role, it was shared during the interview that the company has been trying to move away from offering salaried positions and this role sounds like it will remain hourly.
I would have appreciated more transparency about the funding of the startup and how they plan to implement SOPs to follow regulations and create security at the company at this early stage. The company has an interesting business concept, but not much was shared about their compliance and financial based plans and it appears that marketing and sales is their priority at the moment. Interviewer was eager about using AI at the company and adopting AI strategies. I was ghosted after the interview and did not receive an email saying I was being removed from consideration, but it has been over 30 days since applying.
