      Sales Development Representative Interview

      7 Nov 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at TextRecruit in Nov 2018

      Interview

Short process. I spoke on the phone with the recruiter for TextRecruits parent company. After a few minutes of just detailing my resume and past experience the recruiter asked what my expected salary range would be for the job. I politely declined to offer a range so early in the discussion. I was pressured more and told I wouldn't be able to move forward unless I give a number range. This really made me feel uncomfortable so I said that if she wanted to offer a range of what the role pays, I'll take note of it. After almost refusing to present me with a salary, a price was finally given. I stated that number was a little below average for the area but it would be a place to start the negotiation. The recruiter stated, very aggressively, that the salary is non-negotiable. I find that hard to believe in Silicon Valley that a salary is non-negotiable. If TextRecruit won't respect their applicants with an open and honest salary discussion in the interview process, I don't want to imagine the treatment once a employee. I've interviewed with several companies in the area for an SDR role, all are offering a higher base salary.

      Anonymous employee
      San Jose, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at TextRecruit (San Jose, CA) in Dec 2019

      Interview

Quick and Efficient - If your selected to proceed in the process your sent a link to an assessment which takes about an hour. It tests cognitive ability with basic reasoning questions that included math and reading. Afterwards it is followed by an initial phone screen (more in depth than screen though) followed by an interview with hiring manager and manager of another team. It was a well conducted interview with intuitive questions which came across conversational and responsive as opposed to standard "tell me when" questions. Overall good process, from initial contact to offer letter was about 2 weeks.

      Question 1

They really based the questions on the conversation which I enjoyed. One question that was asked was "tell me a sale you were proud of?"

      27 Nov 2019
      Anonymous employee
      San Jose, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at TextRecruit (San Jose, CA) in Oct 2019

      Interview

I interviewed as TextRecruit (acquired by iCIMS last year) and my interview experience was positive and standard. First there was a cognitive and personality assessment, short phone screen with a recruiter from HQ, on-site with managers, and last video conference with a fellow SDR. Overall the experience was straight forward and conducted in a timely manner.
