Interview
To be placed at an internship, Tesla has a multistaged interview process. The begin with an interview with a recruiter, which is general information: why are you interested, what team would you like to work with, etc. Know your resume. Then, if you are matched with a team you will have an interview with different levels of people within the team.

Question 1
It caught me off guard when he asked me why I chose my current university. It wasn't a difficult question, just not something that I expected.
2 rounds. both with one engineer. very resume review and technical question heavy. Asked a lot of typical materials and beam deflection/stress-strain questions. Try to answer confidently as best as possible. Passed first round but second round threw me off and wasnt as confident.

3. Second round with one team lead
Both interviews had similar technical and behavioral questions as content
1 screen phone call, 2 technical interviews, offer, seems process differs heavily between teams, some teams less interviews but mostly similar to this process. recruiter reaches out first, coordinates all the calls with members of the team
