I didn't get as far as an interview, however I thought it was worth recording my experience after applying for a with at Terra Cat.
I submitted my CV and a cover letter for this job and about 5 minutes later I received an email asking me to complete an online assessment "made up of a series of multichoice work style preference questions and components of verbal, numerical and logical reasoning". The test had the be completed within 48 hours, and because I have a noisy busy home with two young children and the office was quiet, so I clicked the link and started the test.
I found the (many, many) work style preference questions very invasive and sometimes quite inappropriate for what was basically a glorified office admin role. There was no option to save the test to return at a later date. I would estimate there were maybe 40-50 questions to answer at this stage, many of them the same question repeated several times with slightly different wording.
The numerical and logical questions were very difficult relative to the role I was applying for. I've completed and easily passed these types of tests for companies many times in the past, for big banks and professional services companies in the UK, but nothing at this level. Again, for the type of role I was applying for I thought the questions were disproportionately difficult.
Needless to say I didn't get invited for an interview which is Terra Cat's prerogative, maybe I flunked the test completely. I just wanted people to be aware of what will be required of them if they apply for a job here.
