I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Teach for America in Oct 2011
Interview
I became acquainted with a TFA recruiter my junior year of college and expressed my interest in joining TFA, I was invited to a conversation with an alumni who answered my questions about TFA and her experience, but also asked me about my experiences. In the fall of my senior year, I submitted my application online, which included past volunteer, work and campus organization experiences and a letter of intent. I was invited to a phone interview which focused on situational questions and on how I have solved problems in the past. Finally, I was invited to a final interview, which included a presentation about TFA, presenting a sample lesson to my interviewers and other interviewees and finally a personal 1:1 interview. My personal interview was very short.

Question 1
What would make you quite Teach For America before your two-year commitment was up?
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Teach for America (Philadelphia, PA) in Dec 2024
Interview
The interview was very different from most interviews but I was definitely well-prepared with the resources that TFA had offered in preparation. My interviewer was very nice and it often felt like a conversation between us about whatever question was asked which was nice.

Question 1
Why do you want to be a part of Teach For America?
I applied online. I interviewed at Teach for America (Ithaca, NY) in Oct 2024
Interview
The interview started with a mock lesson and case study, followed by questions about me and my interest in the position. I prepared slides to present to the interviewer and shared my screen.
You had to complete a demo in front of other candidates as well as recruiters. The demo itself was short and you had flexibility in what you “taught” for your lesson.
