      Community and Engagement Manager Interview

      Interview

Overall, I had a recruiter screen call and then a hiring manager call. Notably though, the recruiter did not show up to our first call and I had to reach out and email them to see if they were going to still show up. We were able to reschedule but it left a negative vibe, given that there should have been proactive communication. The next stage I had was a hiring manager call. This went relatively well and the hiring manager stated that they wanted to move me forward to meet with members of their team. However, I was then ghosted for three weeks and met with an automated rejection email. The impact of this is that it put an extremely bitter feeling towards the company and I would not recommend it based on my experience.

      Interview

The Process: The interview process at Take-Two Interactive started promisingly. I went through three rounds of interviews, including a conversation with a Senior Director on the Community & Engagement team who was warm, engaged, and explicitly told me she felt comfortable advancing my candidacy and wanted to connect me with two additional team members as a next step. What Happened Next: That next step never materialized. Despite multiple professional follow-up emails to both the hiring manager and the recruiting team over the course of several weeks, I received no response — not a rejection, not an update, not an acknowledgment. Complete silence after being verbally advanced in the process. What I'd Tell Other Candidates: The people I spoke with were genuinely impressive and the role itself was exciting. However, be prepared for a lack of communication and follow-through from the recruiting side. If you're advancing in this process, get confirmation in writing and don't hold your breath for timely updates. The fiscal year transition (March 31) may also affect hiring timelines significantly. Bottom Line: Ghosting candidates after explicitly advancing them is disrespectful of people's time and energy. Candidates deserve closure regardless of the outcome. I hope Take-Two improves this aspect of their hiring process — the talent they're trying to attract deserves so much better.
