The initial communication took six weeks. After I had given up all hope, I received an email out of the blue to offer me dates for a telecon. I replied with a suitable date and received no response. That date passed and I was contacted again with an apology as the email had got lost somewhere and another date was set (Eight weeks)....
The day of the telephone interview went well and the recruiter’s sell made me very keen to carry on with the process. He said he would arrange a chat with the head of development.
Time passed and I forgot about the role and moved on.
(Ten weeks)
A date was arranged for me to interview face to face with the head of development
Another week passes and several more interviews were done.
The interview date arrives and I arrive ten minutes early to a very smart building.
I then waited for twenty minutes only to be informed that the head of development was off sick that day and I would be interviewed by a guy, ‘bless him’ who had only started two weeks ago.
Two of his colleagues joined him at short notice and I noted that no-one was prepared for the interview, no one took notes and the interview appeared unstructured.
I had lost my patience by then and took the opportunity to ask ‘quite cheekily’ who had even read my CV and knew what experience I had.....
All but one (the new guy) stared at me blankly. As they had not, as I had feared, done any preparation.
It was 30 minutes of my life wasted on a discussion with some very nice, but not very bright people.
(12 weeks)
I was not surprised when I received my rejection email from the guy I’ve never met or spoken to.
Did you honestly think I would accept your kind offer after this charade?
TRL - was once great.
