      Interview

I recently had a preliminary interview with a recruiter from this company. It was evident that the interviewer may have been preoccupied, displaying limited interest and focusing more on their morning coffee rather than the conversation with me. The tone of the interview felt somewhat intense, resembling an interrogation rather than an open exchange of ideas. While the interviewer did not initially provide much insight into the company, they did offer useful information when I inquired towards the end. Instances such as these cause hesitation about wanting to be a part of an organization where such behavior is tolerated.

      Product Support Specialist Interview

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Swoogo (London, England) in Nov 2023

      Interview

My experience interviewing with Swoogo was very pleasant. It was quite an intense process with several interviews, some of them back-to-back during one day, but I couldn't be more grateful for the extraordinary kindness I was met with by absolutely everyone during the process; from folks I'll be working in the same team with, to colleagues from other teams. I felt really comfortable throughout, and communication after each stage was prompt. I appreciate that the process might be lengthy, and I've seen some on here mention that they feel it was unnecessarily long, and felt a bit daunting. However, this was actually a process that pretty closely matched my expectations based on research and information that has been shared with me by others working in SaaS, particularly in a remote setting, over the years. These were the interviews I had: - the initial call with the Talent Acquisition Partner - Interview with the Hiring Manager - Panel interview with one team member from the Product Support team, and another colleague from a different department - Interview with an Excecutive level member of the Swoogo team - Technical assessment with a Product Support team member - Final interview with the CEO What set Swoogo apart, in my experience, was the opportunity at every stage to ask questions, and the openness, and transparency everyone expressed, in answering them. This gave me a real feel for the company, the people that make it, and what it would be like working here. It felt more like a two-way conversation than an interview. I would also like to add, that the application form itself was actually much shorter than what I've seen elsewhere, and I appreciated this, having gone through application forms that took several days to complete. The only small thing I might have tweaked, would have been to have the technical assessment stage a bit earlier on. I think it might have been good to have it right after the interview with the hiring manager, and this could have then determined whether you made it to the next stage.

Questions like 'can you give me an example of a time when you had to prioritise?' and 'can you tell me about a time where you had to troubleshoot a technical issue' etc.
