      Marketing Interview

      9 Apr 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Papillion, NE
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Supportworks (Papillion, NE)

      Interview

Very long process. They warned how long the process was but they were not kidding. 4-5 interviews, multiple rounds with peer groups, interviews ranging from 1 hr to 2 hrs long, and some additional pre-work needed. This was alot of extra hoops for an entry level position. After the fifth interview with upper management, I was informed they would contact me the following week in regards to landing the job. They did get back, but told me to wait an additional week as they were interviewing other candidates. What is upsetting was, typically other candidates are weeded out at the 3rd interview or in some cases prior. At this moment, I realized that even if I get the job, there could be 3 or 4 other people that dedicated 5 - 8 hrs (without factoring commuting) to their interview process and that they wasted their time off as well. What also get me is the position was entirely in office, which is fine but in order to commit that much effort to the hiring process, one would either have to use their PTO, have unlimited PTO, or WFH to squeeze in this volume of interviewing. Typically people squeeze in this amount of interviews over a lunch period, but that wasn't an option. Most individuals are already commiting alot of their PTO for interviewing with other companys, but the fact that there is a disrespect for people's time is a slap in the face. The worst part is I received an automated message that my skills weren't a fit. If they weren't a fit, why put me through to a fourth and fifth interview or even meet with upper management. It was equally shocking because I explained some fairly advanced things that they had issues with and were amazed that I had solutions. I was shocked to see the position reposted the following week. I don't want to assume that the position is a ghost job, but it didnt bode well seeing that and has caused me grief. I have applied here for the past 5 years and it just has me baffled at why I even get interviewed every time. I'm done trying.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What are you looking for in company culture? How do you stay relevant in your field? What do you know about the company? How do work with a bigger team? List how you dealt with a negative experience at work? What would your coworkers say about you? Do you keep in touch with past coworkers?
