Process was lengthy and had multiple steps, one of which was a trial period where you work for them for 4 paid hours. Also had some out-of-the-box questions. Anytime a company has those weird questions I feel like they’re trying to be like Google too hard though. During my trial, I surveyed the office and took note of the culture and the way employees interacted with one another, and I was quite surprised. I expected a vibrant and enthusiastic culture, based on the amazing incentives (free food, company gym, pool table in break room, etc.), but the employees seemed tired and disengaged. Also, I expected the CEO to be this enthusiastic guy, and his personality and interview demeanor was the biggest red flag of them all. I started to realize that selling plumbing supplies is not the most exciting thing to do in e-commerce and that all of the cool incentives were just a way to temporarily mask that. For these reasons, I didn’t take the job.
