There was a lack of professionalism shown by the Recruiter/Interviewers throughout. I started with a phone interview, then a "panel" video interview, followed by a writing test.
The Recruiter showed their lack of experience/carelessness right from the start. They called me 15 minutes late, and when I answered, they were unsure of the role I applied for, offered no background on the company/role, and jumped right into generic questioning. I would answer a question, and because the recruiter wouldn't move away from their script, would follow up with a question seeking information that I already addressed. No flow to the conversation. I should have seen all this as a Red Flag.
The Recruiter then set up a video interview with 3 employees, but only 1 person showed up. There was no explanation for why the other 2 didn't show up, and the Recruiter never gave me an apology or make-up interview. Red Flag #2.
I was then asked to complete a writing test, writing about a product from one of the Sunvalleytek brands that would theoretically be used for a webpage. I worked on this for several hours. After I submitted the test, the Recruiter said they would be get back to me with next steps.
I did not hear back for 7 business days. I emailed the Recruiter to see what my status was... and was ghosted. The Recruiter/company did not have the decency to send an email formally removing me from the interview process after the work I had completed.
Sunvalleytek should be embarrassed about their interview process and the employees involved. Complete disrespect and a lack of class as a company.
