Interviewed by a very senior individual (who was the hiring manager and line manager for this role) on his own. He was doing a number of brief back to back interviews and had been travelling and was visibly tired. In fact, he reached out for one of their energy drinks. Conversation was quite lively but there were a number of irrelevant questions asked (about my ethnicity, age, background) and too much questioning around my past role in another FMCG organisation. I got the impression he might have been fishing for information. There also seemed to be little 'merit' in the decision-making process.
