This review is not for an actual 1:1 interview, but their application process. While uploading your resume and free text fields were quite simple, the lack of response from the company is upsetting(applied 3 months ago and counting). People get excited when they see a role open at a company they've had their eye on and will take the time to fully invest in the application process, so when your application goes through the dark vortex, it's pretty disappointing.
Sumo asks for specific questions regarding why you want to work there, what would you want to gain from this job, etc oh and they also make you download their software an include the link to the site it's being used one, so bizarre, like who has time for that? Applying for jobs is already time consuming and stressful, so why not make this process as seamless as possible?
Pro tip - If you're going to make applicants create a tailored response and oh I don't know maybe speak from the heart, please be courteous and at least send all applicants a rejection email. In the world of candidate experience, a simple email goes a long way. If your ATS doesn’t allow you to disposition candidates by simply clicking a box along with a status email, then maybe it’s time to invest in a new software.
Sincerely,
A concerned applicant
