      Sandwich Artist Interview

      27 Sept 2011
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Subway in Sept 2011

      Interview

When I went in for the interview it went very well. The woman interviewing me took her job seriously and I got the impression that she expected the same of her employees. She told me she was looking to replace someone right away who "wasn't working out". After asking basic questions such as why do you want to work at subway, what are your strengths, what are your hours, how do you deal with conflict, what is good customer service, and what do you do to set and achieve your goals? When the interview was over she told me she would call me within the next 2 days and give me and inform me on whether or not I got the job. Two days later true to her word she called me back but told me that the job situation had changed and that they were not hiring anyone. She told me though t hat she might call in the next couple weeks if something new opened up and that she might bring me back in. She seemed to like me but in the end there was no job offer and they weren't hiring anyone. Although as I said before I think she would have liked to hire me if she had still had that option. It was a bit frustrating to be brought in, make a good impression, and then be told they were told no goingt to hire anyone after all. But I understand that's how things work. Be pleasant and honest, those surveys you fill out when you apply give them a personality break down and they know if your not honest.

      Interview questions [2]

      Question 1

How would you deal with a customer who comes in and tells you they hate subway, and hate your food, and rants about their negative experience with Subway? What would you say or do?
      1 Answer

      Question 2

How do you go about planning and completing large projects? Can you give me an example of the process you use? The interviewer told me this could be for a previous job, an example of a class project, anything where I had to set goals.

      Interview

Very simple and straightforward. Normal questions like availability, have you worked in food service before, etc. I think it depends on location though since friends at other locations have had more substantive or less substantive interviews.
