I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Sublime Media
Interview
I did an HR screen, then a video interview with 2 senior people, then a short trial assignment. Everything was clear and friendly. The timeline was approximately 3 weeks. I appreciated the specific guidelines for the trial assignment, and I didn't feel that it was too much to ask.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Talk about social learning and share any examples, if you have them.
The interview itself was uncomfortable. The panel focused heavily on “gotcha” style questions that felt more like attempts to challenge my expertise than an actual genuine discussion. One of the questions they asked was how I would tell clients their ideas were “bad or wrong,” which gave the impression that the team viewed themselves as superior to their clients. The scenarios the panel presented were complex, and I tried to answer their questions thoughtfully but I wasn’t given adequate time to respond. Overall, the tone of the interview left me with a poor impression of the culture and communication style here.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
What was the best "learning experience" you've had?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Sublime Media in Aug 2014
Interview
Worked through a recruiter. First received a screening phone interview from HR then was called in for an on site interview. The onsite interview turned out to be a panel interview which was fine but I was not informed of this ahead of time. The interview was started before all of the participants had arrived, as a result I had to repeat some background information. The panel was friendly, the ID lead let the other attendees ask most of the questions, but answered most of the questions I had. I was not offered a position, but they communicated this (via the recruiter) within a few days of the interview which is always appreciated.
