I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Stop & Shop (Highland Park, NJ) in Sept 2017
Interview
The interviewer had my information down already and asked me to explain my duties on a previous job then asked about my hours, and flexibility. Then she explained the job to me and asked did I really want the job if I had any concerns/questions.
Brought a resume in to the interview, was hired on the spot based on prior experience in grocery/cashiering. Was not expecting to be hired on the spot. They explained the union situation and that was about it.
Very quick interview. Interviewer was friendly. Asked about availability and stressed the importance of stop and shop being a union. You will be hired as long as you are friendly polite and can demonstrate a positive attitude towards customers. Experience a plus.
I met with the store manager at the store. The interview was very easy and informative. We went over their benefits and what is like to work there. I had been a cashier before so I knew what would have been expected.
