I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Sterling Payment Technologies (Tampa, FL) in May 2016
Interview
I received a phone call to set up a phone interview a week later on a Thursday at 4:30pm, which I thought was a poor choice of timing but went with it. One question into the telephone interview, the recruiter abruptly end the call, which I had prepared extensively for with research and even passed up another interview to attend. She asked if I could do the next day at 2pm. I said sure. Then I came in for an in-person with a Marketing Manager or Director. She, like the recruiter, only talked about the company's needs. The whole process was company-centered with zero interest in the needs and concerns of potential employee. When I could get a word in edgewise, I asked about flex time, which the recruiter had led me to believe could be an option and because the nature of this job, particularly reputation management, requires 24/7 attention. I proved with my credentials that I could fix their reputation problem. She stated that they are only hiring this position to appease leadership. I could've easily fixed their problem, but they weren't interested. This company is behind the times and wants you in your seat 8-5, even if you know in order to do your job the best way that you'll also have to do it after hours and on weekends.
