I interviewed at State Compensation Insurance Fund
Interview
I applied in December 2024 and was scheduled for an interview in February 2025.
The interview consisted of three team members but on a zoom call. The questions were rapid fire and the lead hiring manager cut me off a few times to move onto the next question. It was off-putting. I was only able to ask one question at the end.
I reached out a week later to the HR rep and at the time she said they were still deciding. I waited another week and reached out again but had no answer. I also tried emailing the hiring team and received no answer. I understand if they didn't want me but the least they could do is tell me I wasn't a fit.
I saw the same position reposted a couple of months later. I asked the HR rep if this was the same position (thinking maybe the job had to get reposted due to the return to office mandate just announced). She said it was a repost but because they "couldn't find anyone". I do not get that at all. I know I was one of many others. It seems like if the first candidate on your list didn't work you go to the next. Why go through the whole process again. The state hiring system does not make sense to me at all.

What are the most important qualities in a project manager?

Interview
Interview process consisted of initial application, screening, and a panel interview. Relatively straightforward — prepare to answer multi-faceted/situational questions and touch on all pieces of the question. Salary negotiation is difficult with predetermined classifications.
