I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Starz (Denver, CO) in May 2014
Interview
The position was in Starz mobile apps group. Hiring process was first a phone interview with the hiring manager, then a group interview with the hiring manager and a developer from his team. Questions were general software engineering questions - nothing particularly technical. The manager and the developer were interesting and knowledgeable.

Question 1
A thinking process sort of question that over thought: A rectangular sheet cake of uniform dimension is to be split evenly between to parties. However, someone has removed an irregularly shaped piece from one corner. You only have one cut to divide the cake. Where do you slice in order for each party to have exactly the same size cake?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Starz (Denver, CO) in Mar 2023
Interview
They seemed to have their scheduling game together, which I really appreciate. Approximate times: Week 1: Initial reach-out from a recruiter; scheduled call Week 2: - Intro+tech screen - Benefits details call (interesting that this happened first) - Interview with hiring manager. Week 3: interview with team members (I declined at this point to accept another offer).
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The tech screen was basic CS-geeky: Can you describe some data structures? Describe a linked list. Explain a binary tree. How would you traverse it? Some basic big-O questions. Actual interview with hiring manager was much more conversational. He did have some checklist-type questions closer to the end, more .NET related: how and why of async/await; explain .NET garbage collection and how to account for it in program design.
