Interview
I recently applied for a frontend developer role at startupslang and I wanted to share my mixed experience. The application process was straightforward and the recruitment team was prompt in responding to any questions I had. The technical tests that the company gave me were okay and provided an opportunity for me to showcase my skills. However, the interview process was somewhat disappointing. The interview started 30 minutes late, which was unprofessional and showed a lack of respect for candidates' time. Additionally, the interviewers themselves were not well prepared and were not able to provide a clear overview of the projects I would be working on if I was hired. This made me question the company's commitment to staying at the forefront of technology. Overall, while the technical tests were okay, I would not recommend startupslang as a great place to work for frontend developers. The unprofessionalism and lack of preparation during the interview process was a red flag for me, and I would not want to work for an organization that does not value candidates' time and effort. Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope it helps you in your job search!

Interview
Passive aggressive nasty inexperienced unprofessional interviewer. Due to timezone difference had to stay up until 11pm for the initial interview. The interviewer rescheduled to 1am 10minutes prior to the start of the interview. I stayed up until the rescheduled time but right at the start of the interview he said they werent hiring in my region. It was blatantly obvious that I was from a different region yet he rescheduled last minute to a highly inconvenient time for me as a passive aggressive 'pay back' due to my prior cancellation of our initial meeting. I had an urgent private matter that caused me to reschedule which I apologised for and yet this inexperienced unprofessional interviewer pulls this very nasty passive aggressive move. Also the company advertised a more experienced sales person as the manager but switched to an inexperienced person in actual interview (less than 2 years experience). Looking at his unprofessional actions as well as linkedin profile I would advise to not work with this nasty person. The mob is also not responsive on socials as I followed and reached out.

Interview
Interview was done on video call. When the interviewer joined, he didn't show his face. I was there for the first round of interviews and told there would be a follow-up for if I was chosen or not for the second round which could then lead to a position. Just before starting the test questions, the interviewer mentioned that the questions should be straight-forward and easy, then went on to say that the other applicants he interviewed so far couldn't figure it out for some reason.
The questions were opened through a messaged link and the screen was shared with the interviewer. You could type out your answer or just talk through what you would do. Whenever I got something wrong, he gave me feedback but it was quite blunt. When I'd say I was stuck, he would either remain silent or ask what I would Google in this scenario and then tack on, "You don't even know what you're stuck on but what would you search?" Throughout the whole interview, I could hear constant messages going off in the background as well.
Overall, the interviewer was awkward and unprofessional. I'm confident I will not be chosen for the next round of interviews but I wouldn't want to attend anyway.
