I applied in-person. I interviewed at Staples (Kitchener, ON) in Jan 2024
Interview
The overall interview process was thorough and a good experience. The questions were highly relevant, focusing on my sales pitch, general customer service skills, and behavioural scenarios, such as how I handle irritated customers. Unfortunately, the experience ended poorly; the company eventually took the job posting down and completely ghosted me without providing any final update or feedback.

Question 1
Describe a specific situation where you had to handle an irritated customer.
Interview process took 1 month. First recruiter call.
Then Video interviews with 2 People. Then onsite with 4 people. Weird experience because they kept asking same questions and why leave my current company. Director didn’t even knew about her own company’s values. Recruiter and hiring manager ghosted me after interview. I mean don’t call candidate onsite if you are going to ghost. Very bad experience overall. Waste of time because I had to put in leave for my current job just to attend interview onsite and all this to get ghosted.

Question 1
Why leave current company?
Have you worked on marketing campaigns?
Why staples?
For my first round - the recruiter called me 30 mins early, asking if that time worked instead of our originally scheduled phone call. During the interview, they asked me to list my work experiences, with titles and dates, despite me submitting my resume in the application. My second round the hiring manager didn’t directly answer questions about the responsibilities, and emphasized their own struggle with work life balance. They never followed up after the 2nd round.
