      Technical Support Analyst Interview

      5 Jun 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Denver, CO
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at SpinFusion (Denver, CO) in May 2018

      Interview

This was one of the least professional interviews I have participated in. Over 2 1/2 weeks, I spent 15+ hours preparing, researching and analyzing the SpinFusion brand. After completing a Skype interview with a VP level individual in the Houston area, I was given the opportunity to have an in person interview in the Denver office. I was told I would be meeting with a particular member of HR that I had been emailing with for the better part of the month. She was the most impersonal and unqualified interviewer I've dealt with in recent times. Prior to meeting, she assigned me a 'homework assignment' consisting of a DISC assessment and a 30/60/90 day integration strategy for my success in the company. I had colleagues, former professors and other qualified graduate level individuals in my life critique my integration plan, and they all agreed that it was stellar work. One even thought that it was something that SpinFusion created for me to use as a template going forward. Come time for the interview, She had one page consisting of 5 of the most bland and un-applicable questions you could ask an interviewee (along the lines of 'whats your favorite color). She had no interest in me as a person, or my time. It genuinely seemed as though she was more focused on hurrying me out the door so she could start her lunch hour. She did not ask a single question about the integration strategy, nor did she ask me any relevant questions about my experience or expertise. Additionally, after about 5 minutes of her making check marks on a piece of paper, she basically expected me to coordinate the interview. It was not a conversation, and it was the opposite of an organic interview experience. At this point, I asked twice as many questions to her as she did of me. What is the dynamic on the Support Team? How many team members are there? What type of training is provided to better understand the software used? What is the company size? Who are the clients? where are they located? What is the most profitable business line ? What is success defined as in this role? How will I be critiqued? Is travel expected? I should have listened to the other Glassdoor reviews provided by previous employees about the toxic culture at this company. Or I should have realized something was up when I walked into the office and saw 40 empty desks, but was told only 10 people work in this office. What a bizarre waste of time. For all I know, they're using my 30/60/90 day plan to on board some cheaper interviewee who was next in line. After I left the interview, a day later she sent me an email that said "we've moved forward with other candidates". One sentence. After hours of time spent preparing myself for success.... I politely asked her via email for some feedback as to where I came up short, because I was convinced I was a perfect fit for this role, and she didn't even have the courtesy to respond. A total lack of integrity. Avoid SpinFusion at all costs, because they're not worth your time.

      Anonymous interview candidate
      Denver, CO
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at SpinFusion (Denver, CO) in Nov 2016

      Interview

My communication was with one individual, she was kind and courteous. I had two interviews, both were conducted via skype. I didn't reach a third interview and/or an offer. I also had to complete a 30-60-90 (isn't this usually for management roles?) plan for what I intend to do if granted the opportunity. a questionnaire relating to the position, and an assessment of my personality and traits I carry. It was an assessment by Tony Robbins, that infamous speaker. I personally didn't mind doing these additional tasks, but I'm sure there's a few out there who would think it's asking for a lot before a second interview.
